Finally Had Enough

Thanks for all the great comments from yesterdays post. When you get a chance yall go read them because there's some good info there. People told us what they wanted to accomplish in the the new year so we have to support them and keep them accountable by reading the post and commenting on them. We are here to support each other in reaching our goals.

I say food is really a drug because chile please I'm trying to beat the Popeye's food addiction. Okay I went to the grocery store yesterday to get my "good" food like fruits and veggies..., but then it was late and I was tired and I didn't feel like going home and cook anything and another excuse I had a conference call meeting at 7P so I just didn't have time to go home to make anything. (Planning is essential to reaching your goals). Anyway what did I do - I drove thru Popeye's to get what - chicken nuggets and red beans and rice. But this time it just didn't taste as good as it had been tasting. Ugh I think it's because I've been eating it so much that I'm just sick of it for now. Know what I mean?

This morning I'm back on track with the good healthy food I bought in the 20 degree weather yesterday evening.

Oh and I just want to weigh what it says on my drivers license (LOL). Do yall weigh what you have on your drivers license?

First Monday Morning of 2010

The holidays are over and it's Monday morning - life that is!

It's the first Monday morning of the new year so what are you going to do in this new year?

Get healthier right? For many of us becoming healthier means making better food choices, exercising more, and the big one losing weight.

I saw the TV show The Doctors this morning and they talked about the resolutions they made last year and how they did achieving them. They did great, good and not so good, but the bottom line said was - it's a new year and you can start off again.

So share what you want to do for the new year here on Monday Morning Life.

I'll start with my new year resolution(s) -

1. I'm staying the course of my quest to be healthy by continuing to eat healthier, exercising and the big one for me is losing weight. I'm generally good on exercising, I slip often on eating healthier (ate Popeye's chicken nuggets and red beans and rice like it was some crack (LOL) often during the holidays).

I've got a big event in August to attend so August will be one of the check in dates. We have a fitness walk at my church April 17th so that will be another check in date. So I have check ins at 3 months and 8 months from now.

2. Get the "clutter" out of my house - bottom line!

It's all about community so share your goals for 2010 and check in often so we can support each other. To comment on a post you can be a member, but you don't have to be one. You can just -

Scroll to the bottom of the post you want to comment on and click on "comments"
Then a box will pop up with "Leave your comment"
Type in your comment
Then type in the word verification
Then under the "Choose an identity" section choose your identity
If you already have Google account you can log in as you do to that account, or
You can choose "Name/URL" - type in your name - first, first and last or any name you choose. You do not have to type in a URL just your name. I think the the Name/URL option is the best option to choose.
You can also choose "Anonymous" - unless you are just saying something way out there and you don't want anyone to know who you are, then I say why choose this option.

Tired

I'm tired today, but I did pump some iron this morning. And so far I've put 3600 steps on my pedometer so it's not so bad of an exercise day. Despite being tired I plan to take more steps today.

Have you exercised today? Check back with me tomorrow to see how many steps I logged by the end of the day.

Been a Long Time

Wow I haven't posted anything since last Tuesday because I've been with a male for the last 7 days. He's about 20 inches, 5 pounds and some ounces and today he's 9 days old! Gotcha:). And again he's so precious! His mother says I'm a "newborn convert". He just puts his little head on my chest and is so content. Hey I'm not getting that kind of attention from any other male.....................

Nothing new to report on me in weight and inches (which is good). How about you?

Today I'm back on my exercise and eating right for me. So join me and let's not as reported today on The Today Show gain those 5 pounds people put on over the holidays.

You with me?

Shout out to the New Orleans Saints! They pulled out all the stops from everywhere to win over the Washington Redskins. There's a lesson there - do what you have to do to win. As they say in NOLA - Ya heard?

Who Dat

Who dat talkin bout beatin dem Saints? Well nobody so far! Go Saints 11-0!
And guess what this weight aint gonna beat me either.

Here's a quote from ESPN.com about the Saints -
"The best thing you can do when you get to a place you haven’t been before is act like you have.

That is precisely what the New Orleans Saints did Monday night."

I thought, hmm..."Act like the weight and size I want to be". This is what many books I've read say to do - visualize your end result. I got it! I'm there.
You with me?

Inspiration of the Day
Quote from Jordan Rubin author of The Maker's Diet
You Are What You Think
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7)
What you do and say begins with what you think and believe. In the pursuit of perfect health, it's important to remember that the mind greatly influences the body and spirit. The human mind is a complex and wonderful "machine," sometimes referred to as the most powerful computer ever built. Like computers, we can process, store, and share information. And like computers, the information we put out is only as good as the data we put in: Garbage in, garbage out.

Have a great Tuesday!

Hips Don't Lie

Monday morning after Thursday Thanksgiving Day, and (Saturday seconds from Thanksgiving Day) and the tape measure don't lie because the results are in:

1 inch lost from the waist

1/2 inch lost from the left thigh

1/2 inch lost from the right thigh

1/4 inch lost from the hips

Total inch lost: 2 1/4 inches

I knew my clothes were getting less and less tight, and now I know why.

The scale didn't budge up or down which makes me extremely happy. But why, oh why are we slaves to that little instrument that tells you you weigh more than that chart says you should weigh? Okay I'm going to have to really blast some calories this week cause that scale needs to move (down that is) this week.

Perseverance, perseverance and I will conquer that scale. You will too if you watch your diet and exercise. I'm going to take a Body Pump class today so I'll burn some calories (can be up to 600 calories), and work my muscles out.

Check out this website for info on Body Pump.

How did you do over the long Thanksgiving weekend?

New Beginnings

Nothing to much happened to me today, but a new nephew was born into the world early this morning. Now I'm not a newborn baby person because I think they mostly look like "little rats", but this little one is absolutely beautiful. Baby Alexander (Alex) is really precious. Shout out to the parents and Grandma Stephanie.

I did walk around my condo complex for 30 minutes after dinner tonight. I got this exercise thing down. Did you exercise today?
